The ADC confirmed on 24 June 2026 that Pearson VUE will use wand scanners when admitting candidates to testing centres, starting with the September 2026 written examination sitting. The scanners are intended to detect proxy testers and unauthorised electronic devices.

The ADC has reminded candidates that bringing unauthorised materials or devices, including electronic devices, into an examination is not permitted and is treated as misconduct, and that anyone found with an unauthorised device will not be allowed to enter. The 2026 Period 2 written examination for dentists runs across Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September 2026, held over two days at the same venue, and candidates must present two forms of identification to be admitted.
