Overseas-qualified dentists planning ORE Part 1 or Part 2 sittings in 2026–27

The General Dental Council's ORE booking page lists the 10–13 September 2026 Part 2 sitting as fully booked. The booking window for that sitting had opened on 21 July 2026 at 14:30 UK time. The next Part 2 sitting runs 26–29 November 2026 with 200 places, and under the GDC's general rule each sitting opens for booking about eight weeks before the exam date. The GDC notes that places are normally taken on the day a booking window opens, and that priority candidates — those with only a few sittings available before their time limit expires — are contacted separately by email.

For Part 1, the next sitting is 14–15 October 2026, and its booking window opened on 18 August 2026 at 14:30 UK time. Each Part 1 sitting has 600 places, and the first contract year runs four sittings: 25–26 August 2026, 14–15 October 2026, 2–3 February 2027 and 6–7 April 2027. The Part 1 examination fee is £485, with a £115 application-processing fee; the Part 2 fee is £6,967.

On booking mechanics, the GDC states that an account can be logged in on only one device at a time, that an exam listing shows as unavailable for the eight hours before its window opens, and that payment is taken at booking. The GDC also confirmed in its 6 May 2026 announcement that a new candidate portal, including a revised booking system, should be in place for exams scheduled in 2027.
