The Australian Dental Council announced on 24 June 2026 that it has frozen its examination and application fees for another twelve months, holding the current schedule in place. For dentists that keeps the initial assessment at AUD 647, the written examination application at AUD 2,122, and the practical examination application at AUD 4,775.

Initial assessment renewal stays at AUD 265 for registration and skills assessment together, or AUD 35 for registration only. A standalone skills assessment is AUD 647 and a work-history reassessment AUD 265. A review application against either exam remains AUD 1,008, with an independent appeal committee at AUD 5,305. The ADC says it reviews operating costs annually and, as a not-for-profit, charges only what it needs to remain operational.
